Here at Sleepy Hill Middle School, a select team of teachers are assigned to the academy students and they remain with them through their years of success. The students who are enrolled in the academies have the following:

STEM Eligibility Requirements
- Attain at least a 3 or higher on the FSA (in both Reading and Mathematics)
- Applied to this specific academy Online
- Classified as Gifted
- Previously placed in advanced level courses
- Transferred from another STEAM Academy program or Pre-Engineering Academy
Pre-Aerospace Academy Eligibility Requirements
To Enter the Pre-Aerospace Academy, students adhere to the following requirements.
- Attain at least a 2 or higher on the FSA (in both Reading and Mathematics)
- Applied to this specific academy Online
- Transferred from another Aerospace Academy program
CSI Academy Eligibility Requirements
To Enter the CSI Academy, students adhere to the following requirements.
- Maintain a GPA of 2.0 in all academics.
- Applied to this specific academy Online
Maintaining Eligibility
- Demonstrate appropriate behavior at all times
- As outlined in the Code of Conduct
- Demonstrate a dedication to school with good attendance
- A total of 5 unexcused absences with in a 9 week’s will constitute a probation period
- Demonstrate a dedication in being an active learner
- Active participation in all academic activities
- Demonstrate adequate progress in all courses
- Successful completion of a “C” or higher in all academic courses/electives
Industrial Certification
Certified Solidworks Association (CSWA)
Sleepy Hill Middle School offers it’s 8th grade pre-engineering students the opportunity to earn an Industrial Certification for 3D CAD(Computer Aid Design). Students learn how to use SolidWorks, a leading industrial software in 3D CAD. Sleepy Hill students have had great success earning their CSWA Certificate, this industrial certification is used by Clemson University as an exit exam for their engineering students. We are proud of our outstanding students who have earned their certificates.
